LOCATION:   Pennsylvania

OUTPUT RATING:   15MM BTU

APPLICATION:

Located at Elk Regional Health Center, St. Marys, Pennsylvania, this CHALLENGER® CCUE612-S "Steam" Thermal Combustion Unit will provide steam for sterilization processes, as well to heat and cool the Health Center's facilities.

This system is equipped with Auto De-Ash, Extended Combustion Zone and PCC Controls. Also included in the system is a Truck Unloading System, 200 cubic yard Live Auger Bottom Storage Bin, Combustion Air Pre-heater, Multi-Clone Collector and 450HP - 150 psig Steam Boiler.

CHALLENGER®'s advanced Auto De-Ash System eliminates downtime and labor costs by removing ash from the system automatically. It is also much safer.

The Extended Combustion Zone provides additional dwell time for the combustion of any unwanted particulates and emissions before they are able to exit the system, making the process much cleaner, which reduces maintenance time and costs.

With PCC Controls, the system will automatically stay within 3-5 degrees of the customer's desired temperature. Fuel feed motors, combustion fans and induced draft fan all run on variable frequency drives to ensure the proper mix of combustion air to fuel. The unit will adjust itself automatically according to its load demand.

The combustion unit itself, like all CHALLENGER® Combustion Units, is equipped with high temperature cast refractory ceramic lining for longer life. This cast refractory/ceramic lining was designed to be completely modular, which makes for easy repair and replacement.

FUEL SOURCE:

This CHALLENGER® Combustion Unit will burn residual waste from the forest floor, ground pallets, and screened fines from a particle board process.
