APPLICATION:
This system consists of (3) CHALLENGER® CCUE620-W "Hot Water" Thermal Combustion Units that provide heat to the customer's 50-acre greenhouse operation.
Like all greenhouse operations, the heat demand of this greenhouse is largely dependent on weather conditions, making instant heat distribution crucial to operation. To address this demand, this system heats a 1MM gallon water tank that allows the customer to distribute the stored hot water to the greenhouse when demand suddenly increases.
Each unit is equipped with an Extended Combustion Zone, PCC Controls and Auto DeAsh. Also included in this system is a 2400 HP Hot Water Boiler. Fuel is transferred to the combustion systems from three walking floor storage units.
The Extended Combustion Zone provides additional dwell time for the combustion of any unwanted particulates and emissions before they are able to exit the system, making the process much cleaner, which reduces maintenance time and costs.
With PCC Controls, the system will automatically stay within 3 to 5 degrees of the customer's desired temperature. Fuel feed motors, combustion fans and induced draft fan all run on variable frequency drives to ensure the proper ratio of combustion air to fuel. The unit will adjust itself automatically according to its load demand.
The Auto De-Ash System eliminates downtime and reduces labor costs by removing ash from the system automatically. The Auto De-Ash System also provides for much safer working conditions by eliminating the need to manually remove ash from the system's high temperature interior.
The combustion unit itself, like all CHALLENGER® Combustion Units is equipped with high temperature cast refractory ceramic lining for longer life. This cast refractory/ceramic lining was designed to be completely modular, which makes for easy repair and replacement.
FUEL SOURCE:
This CHALLENGER® Thermal Combustion System burns dry pallet scrap, cardboard, railroad ties and green forest waste management residue.
SAVINGS:
The customer purchases processed biomass fuel from local suppliers at a much lower cost that that of fossil fuels, providing a greater return on investment.
